The lieutenant governor of Texas slammed President Barack Obama at an ABC town hall on race and gun violence. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said hatred of police officers and anti-police speech on social media leads to rage and hate.
Obama in turn responded by stressing that he has been “unequivocal” about condemning anti-police violence and rhetoric, and that he has always been very supportive of law enforcement.
The president added that “in the aggregate,” there are obvious racial disparities in the justice system.
